The Olympic ideal is commendable, but the Olympic sized cost is not.
The guesstimated cost of the proposed Calgary Olympics per Calgary taxpayer is about $16,000; per Alberta taxpayer about $3,000.
Given that the governments of Calgary and Alberta have already maxed out their credit cards, hosting the Olympic Games is financial lunacy.
